Star Wars - Rise of Skywalker
D-0 - 3D Modelling & Standby
Working under Senior Animatronics Engineer Josh Lee. I was tasked to produce a set of printable 3D files that made up the outer shell and other visible parts of the droid. Working from the concept art of Jake Lunt Davies, I produced 3D CAD models that matched the design but also fitted around without inhibiting the internal mechanism designed by Josh.
BB-8 - Standby & Broken Panel
Once again I was privileged to provide standby for BB-8 & D-0 throughout filming, including on location in Jordan. As the prop maker in the engineers department, I was also tasked to "Kit Bash" the internal workings of BB-8 underneath a broken panel.
Babu Frik - Modelled Parts
As Ivan Manzella worked on the concept and sculpt of this fantastic character, I was tasked with model making the "hard" parts of his outfit. This included a flip up welding helmet and a working tool to unlock C-3PO's head.
