Agular Blade - Retract Mechanism
Working under Senior Animatronics Engineer Josh Lee. I was tasked to produce a set of printable 3D files that made up the outer shell and other visible parts of the droid. Working from the concept art of Jake Lunt Davies, I produced 3D CAD models that matched the design but also fitted around without inhibiting the internal mechanism designed by Josh.
Nathan's Wristbow
For Nathan's wrist mounted Crossbow, I designed and built a mechanism that would both unfold the crossbow and release the bolt, from a two stage tug of the wrist. As it belonged to a more modern character, I styled the mechanism after Steam locomotives. The mechanism was then passed to the etching, sculpting and painting team for finishing.
Cal's Assembly Blade
ntended to be smuggled in parts past security, this blade had a more modern look imitating ceramic, plastic and carbon fiber. It broke into parts that could be hidden as part of a watch, a belt, a pen, a phone, a necklace and a shoe. The prop worked practically to allow the components to be extracted from their disguise and the blade assembled in camera.
